The BCA held a Public Meeting on Monday 11th July, and it was great to see a huge turnout from the community - indeed it was standing room only!
The meeting was to discuss the Local Plan proposed by Guildford Borough Council, and everyone heard about the many aspects of the plan that could hugely detrimentally impact the traffic and congestion in Burpham, the quality of life, infrastructure in Guildford and the ability for the council to plan long term developments (such as the proposed A3 tunnel).
Various speakers provided their expertise, and there was certainly a general feeling of concern over the local plan, and the lack of long term planning and strategic thinking allied to flawed analysis and forecasting of housing numbers.
The evening also heard from a representative of the Save Newlands Corner campaign, you can read more about them at https://savenewlandscorner.com.
