Burpham Church and Burpham Community Association have set up a support network to assist those who will find themselves isolated and in difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic.
Do you need help? Are you self isolating or unable to go out? Do you need help with shopping, collecting prescriptions or dog walking? We can help with this or other concerns or just a friendly phone call.
We have some useful information in our FAQs below which we are updating regularly so please check these first.
There are various other support networks in my area, who should I contact? As you can imagine, all the volunteer networks are still evolving to cope with the pandemic. If you have a local friend or relative that can help you then please contact them first.
Will you be able to collect a prescription for me? All the local pharmacies are offering a delivery service so in the first instance, please contact them. They are currently under a lot of pressure so may not be able to assist. If they can't, then please contact us..
Please could you do a food shop for me? We recognise that not everyone has a friend or relative nearby who can help. We have a list of local suppliers that are now doing deliveries and we’re doing all we can to encourage local businesses. However, if you still need assistance then please let us know.
I can’t get a delivery slot with Sainsburys for another 3 weeks. Can you help? Firstly, please book the delivery slot so that you know you have a delivery in 3 weeks time. Then it's just a case of dealing with the shorter term. We have a list of local suppliers who may be able to help - please see below. If you are still struggling then please get in touch with us.
I can’t leave the house and I’ve run out of cash. Can I pay you by card? Currently we can accept cash or cheques. We are working on card payments (please call to check)
I have an elderly or vulnerable relative in Burpham but I live too far away to help. Can you help? If you are worried and your relative doesn't have a local support network then please contact us.
During lockdown, we started compiling a list of local suppliers who were providing home deliveries. We've tried to keep this information up to date but please let us know if any of the information below is incorrect or if you'd like your shop or service included.
